Taking a Different Approach

Circles and other rounded shapes blend, intersect, and overlap inside a multi-colored ring. Colors are bright, primary.

Recently I had a conversation with a community member about her educational journey, and she shared a story about receiving some difficult feedback as a first-grader. “Words can hurt a little heart,” she said, in reflection. It was not a memory she planned to reveal, but we are proximate to it now, and perhaps our paths onward, while different, will have more meaning because of it.

Something divine happens when we listen, allow, and witness another person’s story.

Their lived experiences become threads that cosmically weave us into a deeper sense of shared humanity, and we are all more closely united in an eternal narrative that calls us upward.

The paradoxical beauty of our earthly existence is that we all know what it feels like to have a hurting heart. If what breaks us also unites us, then what if our individual pain became a shared purpose to help and to heal so that many generations to come are relieved?

I believe the path of healing justice is the grand challenge of our time, and thus, our Holistic Student Support service emphasizes children and adolescents being heard, growing into their identities, and fulfilling their destinies with dignity and grace.

Please reach out if you would like to discuss why we take a different approach to tutoring.
